Meta | Question about downgrading of E6 offer to E5

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here has experience interviewing for an E6 role but received an offer for E5 instead?

I will be having an E6 interview for MLE in a few weeks and have been doing mock interviews with coaches. After my first round of ML system design and behavioral interviews, I received feedback that I am performing at a strong E5 level but not quite at E6 yet.

My question is, under what circumstances would an E6 offer be downgraded to E5?

I have two rounds of coding, two rounds of ML design, and one behavioral round.
