Google | SWE III (L4) ML | Hyderabad

There aren't a lot of Google SWE ML posts here so I thought I'd contribute.

First Contact
Recruiter contacted me over email. This was followed by a 15 minute phone call a few days later to discuss my work experience, skillset and career aspirations. I asked for a month's prep time for the screening round.

Screening Round
Medium level question on trees. Similar to https://leetcode.com/problems/delete-nodes-and-return-forest/

Onsite 1: Problem Solving
Similar to https://leetcode.com/problems/finding-mk-average.
Verdict: Hire

Onsite 2: Problem Solving
Medium level question on trees. This was followed by two hard follow ups. I solved one and verbally discussed an approach for the other.
Verdict: Hire

Onsite 3: ML
The interviewer tested ML depth and breadth through an ML system design problem. I had to identify the type of problem, as well as break down my approach for solving it. The interviewer asked me several questions related to the topics/method I was mentioning.
Verdict: Hire

Onsite 4: Googleyness and Leadership
General behavioural questions
Verdict: Strong Hire

I got feedback within 2-3 days of each round. Thankfully, I found a very helpful recruiter and the overall process was quite smooth.
