Hello Leetcoders!!
ION Trading Group had visited my college campus for recruitments. I am here to tell you all about my experience with them.
-
Online Assesment :
The OA comprised of 2 coding questions and 15 MCQs. There were different sets for the OA and hence they varied in difficulty. Coding questions ranged from medium to hard. In my set, one of the questions was straight forward a dfs question, asking us to count nodes in disconnected graphs. Second one was a priority queue question. -
Technical Interview :
165 students were shortlisted for this round. The interviewer asked me a question on linked list, bfs, dfs, the n-stairs problem of dynamic programming, a puzzle and on few of OOPs concepts such as virtual class and functions, late binding and difference between early binding and late binding. The round lasted for 1 hour 20 minutes. -
Case-Study Round:
As the name suggests, a case-study was presented to me. The round lasted for 30 minutes and tested only my analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative. -
Stakeholder's Round:
This round concentrated solely on my resume. The interviewer discussed in length about my internship project as well as other projects. The round concluded with a few HR questions such as what success means to you and if there is a reason why I won't be a good candidate for ION. -
County Head :
13 students were shortlisted for the developer role. In this round we had to visit ION's office in Noida. The round was nothing technical. Sanjay Chikara, the Country Head of India for ION talked with us at great length and just wanted to know more about us. The round was fairly casual and didn't feel like a interview or an elimination round. -
Global Head :
12 students were finalised for this round with 1 student being waitlisted. My interview was conducted with ION's Italian Country Head. The round lasted for 15-20 minutes and again was very informal.
After this round I was absolutely sure I had be joining as one of SDE freshers at ION. However, this is the game of life. It knocks u down when u think it just can't. On last Friday I received my rejection mail from ION. After investing so much, it wasn't easy to accept, not to mention how much I hated the company in the moment. But I had to move on and just trust in the ebb and flow of life. I truly hope I make another post here, but this time with an offer from a company.
