Current Status: Awaiting Team match, Recruiter informed me there's hiring freeze from past 6 months and now roles are opening so need to wait patiently.
Verdict: I declined the offer politely considering there's no clarity and the recent layoffs and the how it was handled has removed Google from my desirable employers. I would prefer a bit lesser salary with peace of mind.
